My Apartment in Khon Kaen

OK, so I think that I figured out the key to getting pictures up on this blog is 1. to make them much smaller and 2. to upload at early o'clock in the morning, when the bandwidth in my apartment is still strong.

This is my apartment complex, Sorrento Residence.

And, this is my bedroom/studio inside:

The university here provided housing for free in their medical dormitory, but I was warned by a previous student who went to try very hard to get a private apartment. The medical dormitories now have air conditioning, but when she was here, they did not. That's no joke, considering the temps easily reach the 100s during the day with very high (80%) humidity.

These are the medical dorms:

The email I got from the university about finding an apartment had several different options available, with Sorrento being the most expensive. At a whopping 5000 bhat, it is for the luxurious among the international students. As it turns out, 5000 bhat is only about $153, so yes, I'll take my A/C and TV for a month, because let's face it: $153 isn't even going to get you a monthly parking space rental in DC.

Until later today (or very late tonight, when I can post pictures again)!
